Through God’s grace, wonderful things are happening at St. Agnes Catholic Church. We are greatly blessed with dedicated parishioners, who support our parish with their prayers and talents, giving of themselves in many countless ways to help make St. Agnes the great parish that it is.
The Altar Society meets monthly from September through May on the 3rd Monday of the month at 9:15am in the Meeting Room.
The Altar Society is a dedicated organization whose primary mission is to maintain the altar and church through periodic thorough cleanings of our beautiful house of worship. In conjunction with this mission, the society washes, irons and repairs all the altar linens. When new linens are needed, it is this society which purchases them. The Altar Society also provides the blue candles for Our Lady of Prompt Succor. The flowers on the altar each week are provided and arranged by this group. And it is their responsibility for all the seasonal decoration of the church.
Some of the events we participate in are decorating the church for Easter and Christmas, cleaning the church on the third Friday of the month at 9:15am, cleaning pews twice yearly. The Altar Society also fixes floral arrangements for each weekend Mass and helps with both the monthly St. Charbel Healing Mass receptions and the Saturday breakfast following the 8:00 a.m. Mass. (The breakfast is temporarily suspended due to Covid.)
Would you like to be involved at St. Agnes?
Consider becoming a member of the Altar Society either as an active or inactive member. Active members will receive periodic updates of the Society’s upcoming events. Both active and inactive members will enjoy the spiritual benefits of the prayers of the Society. Members are welcome to help throughout the year when their schedules permit, whether it is once or many times a year. Dues are $20 a year for one membership and $5 a year for each additional family member. Donations are appreciated anytime. Please keep in mind that men are welcome to join the Altar Society as well. All help is deeply appreciated. As we join together, our organization can be most successful in helping St. Agnes as we serve Our Lord.
